Meet Dr. Melissa
I was raised on Maui and graduated from St. Anthony High School. My undergraduate work was completed at the University of Hawaii at Hilo where
I received my BA in Biology. I received my Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree in 1990 from Creighton University’s Dental School in Omaha, Nebraska.
I am an affiliate member of the Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and a member of the American and Hawaii Dental Association respectively. I continue to broaden my knowledge on a yearly basis so that I may help your child in the best way possible.
During Dental School, I completed a two month volunteer program in the Dominican Republic. There, in very rustic conditions, I delivered dental care to the villagers. It was in the Dominican Republic, under the guidance of one of my professors, that I decided pediatrics was my calling. Upon returning home to Hawai’i, I was hired by a pediatric dentist and have been working with children
and special needs adults since then.
Kona has been home since 1990 when I returned to Hawai’i after school.
I have been married to Gabriel Uy, DDS for 25 years and have 3 children. Evan
(a recent college graduate), Dane (currently in college), and Lailan (a junior at Kamehameha Schools Kapalama). I have numerous animals, love to garden and enjoy working with floral designs.
After almost 3 decades of being a dentist for the children of Kona, I would say the biggest compliments for me and my staff is seeing the “next” generation. What an honor it is to be a part of your children’s lives!
Our entire staff, both the front office as well as the clinical staff have over 50 years experience in children’s dentistry.
“Our mission is to provide a warm and caring environment that molds children to become health conscious teenagers and adults that are comfortable and confident in a dental setting.”
Tina has been working with
Dr. Beaudet-Uy since the start of her dental career. Together they have seen two generations (close to three) of patients. She is a creative artist, multi-talented in many ways. Dr. Beaudet frequently says when Tina retires, she will retire. Tina is a pillar in the office.
A relatively new addition to the office, but an old soul to the practice as she was Dr. Beaudet-Uy’s patient as a child. She is the “firecracker” in the office. Heather is a wonderful wife and mom of 2. She is a driving force in the practice. Heather is a foodie at heart and a fabulous addition to our family.
Aunty Miki has been working with
Dr. Beaudet-Uy for 20+ years. She has worn many hats in the office and can do it all! She is a devoted wife and mom to 3 girls, her youngest identical twins. We look forward to her baked goodies every year and can’t imagine the office without her.
Kaua started in our office as a college student in a mentoring program. Dr. Beaudet-Uy quickly noticed her great work ethics and her wonderful ability to work with our patients. She works in multiple positions in our office while she continues her college education. We value her time with us.
The latest addition to our family. Denise has years of valuable experience in dentistry that she brings to our team. She is a calm and effective presence in our front office and a mom of one of our patients. We just had to have her come and work with us! We are so pleased to have her!
Join our No Cavity Club!

How do I pay for our visit?
Payment can be made by check, cash or credit card after the completion of your child’s visit. If you have dental insurance, our staff will submit your claim to your insurance company, and your company will reimburse you to the extent of their liability. If your child has any treatment needs (cavities, orthodontics, etc.), we will provide you with a detailed estimate before we schedule treatment.
