Frequently Asked Questions
What should I bring to my child's first visit?
Please bring the completed First Visit Registration form with you and your child for the first visit. We will then explain everything to your child in a non-threatening manner. Sometimes over-preparing your child for the first visit creates more anxiety, if you wish, you may inform your child that we will be counting and brushing teeth.
What is done at my first visit?
Your first visit is a detailed visit. WE schedule extra time for the visit as we anticipate questions. Dr. Beaudet-Uy will go over medical and dental histories as well as cover any questions that you may have. Your child will have their teeth cleaned and examined, anything that further needs to be discussed will be addressed. The first visit takes 30-45 minutes.
What happens if my child has a dental emergency?
Our office policy is to see the emergency as soon as possible. This usually will occur on the same day. If your child has an emergency after hours, please call our office at 808-329-7351 for further instructions.
Will you see all of my children at once?
Running on time is very important in our office as children don’t usually wait patiently. We do understand that schedules are busy and we will try to accommodate you as much as possible. Please understand however, that all of our patients are children attending school. It would be impossible to schedule all our patients after school.
My child has special care needs, can you help us?
Dr. Beaudet-Uy has treated both children and adults with special needs for 32 years. She tries to establish a comfort level with each patient on an individual basis. Long term care and comfort in the office is a goal we work towards. At times when extensive repair treatment is needed and sedation is discussed, we work with an anesthesiologist and treat in our fully equipped sedation room.
Do you accept my insurance?
Dr. Beaudet-Uy is NON-PARTICIPATING with ALL dental insurance. As a courtesy, we submit a claim on your behalf for direct reimbursement. Please ask our staff if you have an insurance that we can submit to.
What are your policies for any illness in the office?
If our patients or anyone in their immediate families has been sick (coughing, runny nose, fever, sore throat) or has tested COVID positive 5 days prior to their scheduled appointments, we are kindly asking you to reschedule.
