Aloha,
I was raised on Maui and graduated from St. Anthony High School. My undergraduate work was completed at the University of Hawaii at Hilo where I received my BA in Biology. I received my Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree in 1990 from Creighton University's Dental School in Omaha, Nebraska.

I am an affiliate member of the Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and a member of the American and Hawaii Dental Association respectively. I continue to broaden my knowledge on a yearly basis so that I may help your child in the best way possible.

During Dental School, I completed a two month volunteer program in the Dominican Republic. There, in very rustic conditions, I delivered dental care to the villagers. It was in the Dominican Republic, under the guidance of my professors, that I decided pediatrics was my calling. Upon returning home to Hawai'i, I was hired by a pediatric dentist and have been working with children and special needs adults since then.

Kona has been home since 1990 when I returned to Hawai'i after school.
I have 3 grown children with my husband Gabriel Uy, D.D.S. Evan is a firefighter for Hawai'i County, Dane happily works and lives in New Zealand, and Lailan is currently a senior in college.

Fun fact: I am a certified floral designer and have had the pleasure creating wedding florals for some of my past patients.

After 3 decades of being a dentist for the children of Kona, I would say the biggest compliments for me and my staff is seeing the "next" generation. It is a privilege to be a part of your children's lives!
